Tragedy near Maglizh: Prosecution investigating the crash that killed a man and a 14-year-old girl
The Stara Zagora District Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into a severe accident that occurred on July 9 in the area of the village of Maglizh. The incident, which resulted in two fatalities, was the result of a collision between two vehicles on the Podbalkansko road.
According to information from the prosecution, shortly before 10:00 PM, a 51-year-old man driving a Peugeot was attempting to merge onto the first-class road. During the maneuver, he failed to yield to a Mercedes traveling on the road, driven by a 35-year-old man, which led to a heavy impact.
The driver of the Peugeot died at the scene. A 14-year-old girl was also traveling in the same vehicle and sustained severe injuries. After initial treatment at a hospital in Stara Zagora, the child was transported to the capital, but on July 15, doctors were unable to save her life.
The driver of the Mercedes underwent alcohol and drug testing, which yielded negative results. Regarding the deceased 51-year-old man, a blood sample was taken, and the results of the toxicochemical examination will be included in the pre-trial proceedings. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident.
