Samsung explains why Galaxy S26 Ultra screens are acquiring a red tint

Owners of Samsung's flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra model have encountered an unexpected issue – the screens of some devices have begun to acquire a noticeable red or magenta tint. Initial user concerns were that this was due to premature wear of the OLED panels or so-called "pixel burn-in," but the company has already provided an official explanation.

According to the South Korean publication News 1, Samsung has confirmed that the problem is purely software-related. The color shift is not the result of physical hardware damage, but is a side effect of a software optimization attempt. According to company representatives, the changes in color balance appear when operating at maximum brightness under bright light.

"The issue can be resolved by optimizing the color correction software," a Samsung representative shared. While this is reassuring news, the process of resolving the issue does not appear to be automatic for all users.

Currently, to receive the necessary update to restore correct color correction, affected users must visit an authorized Samsung service center. This is slightly more inconvenient than a standard over-the-air (OTA) update, but it ensures that the software fix will be applied correctly.
