Dobrudzha is establishing itself as one of the most impressive regions in Bulgaria, where agricultural activity and natural beauty intertwine in a harmonious landscape. According to the Ministry of Environment and Water (MoEW), the blooming lavender fields in Northeastern Bulgaria are an excellent example of so-called "cultural ecosystem services."

These services include the benefits that people derive from nature through beautiful landscapes, opportunities for ecotourism, recreation, and improvement of the quality of life. During field inspections, ministry experts documented how well-managed agricultural ecosystems not only bring economic returns but also create aesthetically valuable areas that support the development of regional tourism.

"One of the most impressive examples is in Northeastern Bulgaria, where the blooming lavender fields of Dobrudzha meet the azure waters of the Black Sea – a landscape that combines natural beauty and agricultural labor," the agency noted.

These studies are part of a project to integrate the ecosystem approach and apply nature-based solutions in the protected areas of the "Natura 2000" network. The activities are funded under the "Environment" program 2021–2027 and are aimed at more accurate mapping of ecosystems, their green infrastructure, and determining their economic value to society.
