Weather Forecast: Sunny before noon, but rain and thunderstorms expected in the afternoon
The weather will be variable tomorrow. According to the forecasts of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH), sunny weather will prevail before noon, but around and after noon, cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds will develop.
Regional features: Short-lived rainfall, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, is expected in Central Northern Bulgaria, in the eastern parts of the country, and in the mountainous regions. The wind will be light to moderate, from a north-northwesterly direction, though in the southeastern parts it may temporarily change to northeasterly in the afternoon.
Temperatures: Maximum daytime temperatures will vary between 25 and 30 degrees, with around 26 degrees expected in the capital, Sofia. During the night, the cloud cover will break up, providing clearer weather in most of Bulgaria.
The Black Sea coast and the mountains: It will be mostly sunny on the coast, with temperatures between 24 and 28 degrees, and the sea water will be at a temperature of 25–26 degrees. It will also be sunny in the mountains, but rain with thunderstorms is likely in the Rila-Rhodope massif in the afternoon.
Upcoming changes: On Friday, an influx of cold air is expected, which will lead to a drop in temperatures – from 18-20 degrees in the west to 28-29 degrees in the southeast. Expect more intense rainfall and thunderstorms during the afternoon hours on Friday.
