Turkey is the cheapest destination for summer vacation according to new study

Turkey is establishing itself as the most affordable country for summer recreation this season. According to a new study cited by "Euronews", the cost of a consumer basket of goods and services in the country is significantly lower than the European Union average.

Costs of Goods and Services

The data shows a serious difference in prices across the continent. While the average consumer basket in the EU costs around 100 euros, in Turkey, the same set of goods and services is offered for approximately 59.60 euros. At the other end of the scale is France, which emerges as the most expensive destination within the scope of the study.

Accommodation and Dining

In the category of core tourist expenses – restaurants and hotels – France once again holds the most expensive position. In contrast, Portugal has been identified as the most affordable country for overnight stays and dining. Hotel and restaurant prices in Portugal are 26.4% lower than the European Union average levels.

Alcoholic Beverage Prices

The analysis also reveals specifics regarding the prices of alcoholic beverages. Although Turkey is the cheapest destination in terms of overall expenditure, alcohol there is the most expensive among the studied countries. The most affordable alcoholic beverages are offered in Italy, which records some of the lowest prices in Europe.

Specialists emphasize that final travel costs depend on multiple factors, including season, region, transport, accommodation category, and individual spending. "It is not worth focusing solely on average prices," notes Euronews.

To avoid unexpected costs, experts recommend pre-booking accommodation, comparing transport service prices, and mandatory medical insurance.
