Located at an altitude of 3,200 meters, it covers an area of 42 acres and has attracted thousands of tourists over the last 25 years. To ensure season stability, the resort relies on modern artificial snow systems, allowing for skiing even during more unstable weather conditions.

For the economy of Lesotho, which the World Bank classifies as one of the poorer countries, tourism is a key sector. In 2025, it contributes approximately 7% of the country's annual GDP. Afriski not only generates revenue but also provides employment for hundreds of local residents.

Most visitors come from neighboring South Africa, but the resort is now attracting international guests as well. In addition to sporting thrills, tourists can experience the local culture through traditional cuisine and the characteristic Basotho blankets with bright patterns, which are a symbol of the region.
