Russian citizen arrested in Turkey over pool attire conflict
A court in the Turkish city of Antalya has ordered the arrest of a Russian citizen living in the Alanya resort area following an incident related to her child's religious clothing. The case has sparked a serious legal dispute within the local community.
According to information from the Turkish state agency "Anadolu," 64-year-old Lyudmila Inan, who serves as a manager in a residential complex in the Mahmutlar district, blocked attempts by a 13-year-old girl to use the pool because she was wearing a burkini—beachwear designed in accordance with Islamic traditions.
The woman claimed that using the pool in such attire is prohibited by the complex's internal rules. However, her actions provoked a sharp reaction from the child's family, who filed a complaint, qualifying the manager's behavior as "infringement of religious feelings."
Following the intervention of the gendarmerie, the case was taken to court, where the decision was made to arrest the Russian citizen. At this time, it is unclear how severe the charges are and what punitive measure will be imposed on Inan.
