Russia carried out a large-scale and massive attack against the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, using a record number of ballistic missiles since the beginning of the full-scale war. According to official data from the Ukrainian Air Force, a total of 41 missiles were launched overnight, with Ukrainian air defenses managing to shoot down 18 of them.

The attack has led to human casualties – one death and 16 injured citizens have been confirmed. In addition to the missiles, Russian forces also used 125 drones, 108 of which were shot down by Ukrainian forces. A total of 23 missiles and 10 unmanned aerial vehicles hit 20 different locations, with Kyiv being the primary target.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha described the attack as a "brutal terrorist attack" and called on the international community to exert stronger pressure on Moscow. He emphasized that such actions require an adequate and decisive response from Western allies.

These strikes are viewed as a response to recent Ukrainian operations against Russian oil depots and logistics centers. Amid growing escalation and a critical shortage of anti-aircraft ammunition, the Ukrainian leadership is in a state of tension.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that he is conducting intensive consultations regarding the future of the army. According to information from the Financial Times, the President is considering the possibility of replacing Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, after holding talks with him and Minister of Technological Industry Mykhailo Fedorov.
