Following the intense rainfall and hail that passed through the country over the last 24 hours, official inspections of damage to agricultural crops are beginning. Representatives of the Regional Directorates "Agriculture" under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food will participate in the process.

According to initial information, the greatest damage was recorded in the Stara Zagora region. The lands of the villages of Kazanka, Sladky Kladenets, Hrishteni, Lozen, Borilovo, Pastrovo, Pryaporet, and Zmeyevo have been affected.

Significant damage has also been identified in other regions:

  • Burgas Region: the villages of Maglen and Peshtersko (Aytos municipality), as well as Chernitsa, Klimash, and Kosten (Sungurlare municipality).
  • Kardzhali Region: the villages of Platite, Sofiytsi, Kupcite, and Plazhishte.
  • Varna Region: flooded areas in the village of Pchelnik, Dolni Chiflik municipality.

Important information for farmers:
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food reminds that on-site inspections do not happen automatically, but are carried out only after an application is submitted. Farmers have 10 working days from the moment of the adverse weather event to submit the necessary documents to the relevant Municipal Agriculture Service. After the inspection is completed, finding protocols for the lost areas will be issued.

Meanwhile, the Executive Agency "Hail Control" reported active protection of the territories. Over the last 24 hours, more than 600 anti-hail rockets were fired, processing 18 hail-prone cells in the Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Sliven, and Haskovo regions.
