Borima in the Spotlight Again: Livestock Festival Gathers Hundreds in Lovech Region

The village of Borima, Troyan Municipality, has for the twelfth consecutive time become the epicenter of regional livestock farming. The traditional Livestock Festival brought together hundreds of farmers, local residents, and guests to celebrate the labor of those who maintain one of the most important economic sectors in the area.

Although Bulgaria has no official national holiday for sectoral production, Borima has already established itself as an emblematic location for such events. Statistics confirm the village's significance – with over 1,100 sheep, 910 cows, and 165 horses, Borima ranks first in the number of livestock in the Lovech region.

The Mayor of Borima, Meriyam Afzova, opened the festival with words of gratitude to the local farmers. She emphasized that livestock farming in Borima is not just a profession, but a heritage and a way of life that requires immense dedication and hard work regardless of the circumstances.

The official guest of the event was the Mayor of Troyan Municipality, Donka Mihaylova, who emphasized the quality of local products. "The products produced in Borima are known throughout the country. Bulgarians eat Borima products, and our children grow up healthy," she stated.

The festive program included folklore performances by the local dance group "Borimski Ogan," and the highlight of the evening was a concert by the famous folk singer Guna Ivanova. Supported by the local orchestra "Nastroenie," she presented a rich repertoire of classic Bulgarian songs, turning the festival into a true folk celebration.

The event was organized with the assistance of the Troyan Municipality, the Borima Mayoralty, and the local community center "Napredak – 1897," receiving significant support from numerous local donors and sponsors.
