Wave of domestic violence in Shumen region: Four men in police custody following scandals and death threats

In the Shumen region, four separate cases of domestic violence and life threats were registered over the last 24 hours, resulting in the detention of the perpetrators.

One of the incidents occurred in the village of Zlatna Niva on the evening of July 14. A 32-year-old man attacked his 27-year-old partner by punching her in the head. Although the woman was examined by emergency services and released without serious injuries, the man is now under police control, and pre-trial proceedings have begun regarding the case.

Two more cases of aggression in residential properties were registered in the city of Shumen. On Akatsiya Street, a 52-year-old man made death threats against his wife, and in a residence on Filip Totyu Street, a 36-year-old man physically attacked his wife, striking her on the head and body. Both men have been detained for up to 24 hours.

The third case is from the village of Stoyan Mihaylovski, where a 46-year-old man threatened the life of a 23-year-old woman during a family conflict. The police have already taken measures, and the perpetrator is in custody while the investigation continues.
