Turnaround in the Summer Season: Bulgarian Resorts Compensate for Initial Decline in Visits
Bulgarian seaside resorts have managed to overcome the initial slowdown in the summer tourist season. Although a deficit of nearly 200,000 tourists was recorded at the beginning, current visitation levels have already leveled out with last summer's figures.
Minister of Tourism Ilin Dimitrov shared optimistic forecasts during a visit to the resort of Lozeneс. According to him, the suitable meteorological conditions along the coast, which contrast with the extreme heat affecting other parts of Europe, are also contributing to the better results.
To support the development of the sector, the Ministry of Tourism has launched a new campaign called "Bulgaria Celebrates." The initiative aims to promote seaside tourism, local traditions, and festivals through more aggressive advertising, which will also involve famous Bulgarian personalities.
As part of the seasonal activity, special reception offices will also be opened to facilitate easier contact with tourists and businesses. One will be located in Golden Sands to serve the Northern Black Sea coast, and the second will be in Sunny Beach to cover the needs of the southern part of the coast.
