Risky Behavior on the Streets of Burgas

Today, footage was captured near the mall in Burgas showing the increasingly common practice of children moving two, and sometimes even three, people per electric scooter. The photos document cases where three children are riding a single vehicle on the roadway, which poses a serious risk both to the children themselves and to other road users.

In the event of sudden braking, road irregularities, or vehicle maneuvers, such riding can easily result in a serious accident. One second of inattention is enough for such recklessness to turn into a tragedy.

Legal Requirements and Sanctions

The law is categorical: an electric scooter driver is prohibited from carrying other persons. The minimum age for operating such vehicles on the streets is 16 years, and persons between the ages of 16 and 18 are required to wear a protective helmet.

The Burgas Municipality is already recording dozens of reports and fines imposed for such violations. A few weeks ago, parents of minors whose children were operating scooters in violation of current rules were already sanctioned in the city.

These images raise the question of whether control is sufficient and whether parents realize the risk.
