The 2026 FIFA World Cup will bring an unusual change to the champions' award ceremony. FIFA has announced its decision for the winners of the final match to be honored with personalized championship rings – a tradition characteristic of the American basketball league (NBA), but unprecedented for football.

According to an official announcement from the international federation, each piece of jewelry will be part of a strictly limited series. A total of 30 pieces will be designated for the members of the championship team, with each ring being individually numbered. To mark the historic moment, FIFA also plans to release a limited series of 1996 copies for fans around the world as an official licensed product.

The presentation procedure will be divided into two stages. Immediately after the end of the final match, the captain and the coach of the winning team will receive temporary rings. The official, personalized jewelry will be presented to the players at a later time.
