FIFA President Gianni Infantino is seeking official support from Morocco to defend his leadership, according to "The Times". This comes during a period of increasing pressure against him, after UEFA called for a boycott of FIFA tournaments due to the failed plan to attract private investment into the World Cup.

According to the publication's sources, Infantino organized an emergency meeting with key officials in Morocco this week. As part of his proposal, he promised that the 2030 World Cup final would be held at the new "Hassan II" stadium in Casablanca, which will have a capacity of 115,000 seats.

Internal conflict and international contradictions

Infantino's proposal is creating a new diplomatic rift within the organizing committee. The Spanish position is categorical – Spain's football chief Rafael Lozano insists that the tournament final be held in Spain.

The crisis in FIFA's management is deepening after Infantino's plan to sell up to 20% of World Cup shares to private investors was rejected. Organization officials described the scheme as "opaque" and driven unilaterally by the president, warning that it threatens FIFA's non-profit model.

The future of FIFA leadership

Pressure on Infantino is mounting not only from institutions but also from former football stars like Luís Figo. Recently, he has lost the support of several national associations, including the English, Welsh, and formerly allied Saudi Arabia.
