The Liberty Monument on Shipka Peak will be restored: Over 3 million euros in funding approved
The Council of Ministers has decided to provide significant funding for the preservation of one of the most important symbols of Bulgarian statehood. The approved funds are intended for the restoration and conservation of the facades of the Liberty Monument on Shipka Peak.
The total amount to be transferred to the Ministry of Culture amounts to 3,151,475 euros. These funds will cover the execution of a contract for restoration, conservation, and construction and assembly activities, in accordance with the already prepared work project.
The site, located in the Kazanlak municipality, has been declared an immovable cultural property of national importance. The government's decision aims to ensure the necessary financial base to begin work on the preservation of this exceptional historical monument, which is key to Bulgaria's national historical memory.
