The Football World in Mourning: Legend Kevin Keegan Passes Away

The football community is in mourning following the news of the passing of one of the most iconic figures in the game – Kevin Keegan. The legend of Liverpool and Hamburger SV has left this world at the age of 75, leaving behind an indisputable legacy and records.

Keegan, known among fans as "King Kev," achieved historic success by winning the prestigious Ballon d'Or twice – in 1977 and 1978, while playing for the German club Hamburger SV. His talent and passion for football inspired generations of players and supporters around the world.

One of the most emotional comments came from his protégé and Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer. Shearer, whose career was closely linked to the Keegan era at the "Magpies," called him his hero, manager, and friend. "Rest in peace, boss," Shearer shared on social media.

The grief was also shared by the highest levels of British society. Prince William, the Prince of Wales, expressed his condolences, emphasizing that Keegan will be remembered not only as a remarkable footballer and manager but also as an exceptionally kind and generous man.

England manager Thomas Tuchel also joined in the tribute, sharing that Keegan was the first superstar he watched as a young fan. Tuchel highlighted Keegan's incredible achievement of being named the best footballer on the planet twice.

For Bulgarian fans, Keegan's name is also associated with managing the England national team during the 1999-2000 period, when he led the "Three Lions" in bilateral matches against our national team, which was then led by Dimitar Dimitrov-Hero.
