The fifth edition of the 'Solve for Tomorrow' competition begins in Bulgaria: Youth will use artificial intelligence to solve real-world problems

Samsung Bulgaria has officially announced the start of the fifth jubilee edition of its global innovation competition, 'Solve for Tomorrow'. The initiative aims to encourage young people in Bulgaria to use modern technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to develop solutions for real social and environmental challenges.

The program is aimed at students in two main age groups. Registration for teams from 9th to 12th grade is open until November 24, while younger students (from 2nd to 8th grade) will be able to apply in the next stage, which continues until February 2027.

Three Main Development Areas

This year, participants will compete in three specific categories that require the application of STEAM skills (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) and design thinking:

• Sustainability through technology: Projects focused on environmental, economic, and social sustainability.
• Social change through technology: Ideas for improving access to education, healthcare, and support for vulnerable groups.
• Digital finance: Solutions for better management of personal and business finances, as well as increasing financial literacy and security.

Since the program's inception in Bulgaria, over 900 students and over 200 teachers acting as mentors have participated. The project is implemented in partnership with the 'Education 5.0' foundation, which organizes design thinking training for students and teachers.

Previous winners have already developed applied technologies such as waste management robots, air quality monitoring systems, and digital platforms to support people with dyslexia. The final winners of the current edition will be announced at the end of March 2027.
