Tenth Anniversary Summer School on Emergency Medicine in Varna: Training Future Life Savers

The Medical University of Varna (MU-Varna) has launched its anniversary tenth summer school on emergency medicine. The initiative, which has been preparing future doctors for work in critical situations for an entire decade, brought together leading experts, academic leaders, and students.

The founder and main organizer of the training is Prof. Dr. Lora Georgieva, who emphasized the long history of the project and the role of partners in practical training. The Rector of MU-Varna, Prof. Dr. Dimitar Raykov, emphasized the critical importance of time and precision skills in emergency medicine, while simultaneously expressing gratitude to the teams of the Center for Emergency Medical Aid – Varna and the Emergency Departments at UMBAL "St. Marina".

Professor Emil Kovachev, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, wished the participants that the acquired knowledge would become a tool for saving human lives. For her part, Dr. Desislava Katelieva, President of the National Association of Emergency Medical Care Workers, defined the school as a key link between professionals and future personnel, emphasizing that emergency medicine is fundamental for every doctor.

The program includes intensive theoretical lectures from leading specialists, followed by practical sessions that began on July 17. These practical modules are aimed at applying knowledge in real-world scenarios, providing students with the necessary confidence and experience before they enter the profession.
