Support for digital health services

Shumen Municipality is joining the national information campaign of the Ministry of Health to promote the "eHealth" mobile application. The goal of the initiative is to expand citizens' access to electronic health services and facilitate access to personal medical information.

The campaign is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Health, the Regional Health Inspection (RHI) – Shumen, and the Regional Health Insurance Fund (RHIF) – Shumen. In a letter dated July 29, 2026, the Director of RHI – Shumen, Dr. Pepa Kaloyanova, invited the mayors of the ten municipalities in the region – Shumen, Veliki Preslav, Novi Pazar, Kaspichan, Smyadovo, Kaolinovo, Venets, Varbitsa, Nikola Kozlevo, and Hitrino, to assist in organizing mobile points to present the application.

Schedule and activation procedure

In implementation of the campaign, Shumen Municipality and RHIF – Shumen are organizing a mobile point for activating the application. On August 10 and 11, between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM, at the Municipality's Administrative Services Center, citizens can activate their profiles free of charge and receive assistance from experts.

To perform the procedure, users must bring a valid identity document and a mobile phone with the "eHealth" application pre-installed. Experts from RHIF – Shumen will provide on-site assistance for registration and initial setup.

Capabilities of the "eHealth" application

Through the mobile application, citizens can track information regarding completed medical examinations, issued electronic prescriptions, referrals, laboratory tests, immunizations, hospital treatments, epicrises, and other documents from the National Health Information System. The application also allows parents to access the electronic health records of their children until they reach the age of 18.

Parallel to the official campaign, Tatyana Kiprova is organizing an initiative to promote "eHealth" among the business community in Shumen, aiming to assist working people who cannot visit the information points during working hours.
