Science and Nature in Cherni Osam: The Seventh Edition of 'Ranger Day' is Approaching
The Natural History Museum – Cherni Osam is preparing a special event that combines nature conservation with scientific discoveries. On August 1 and 2, the seventh edition of 'Ranger Day' will take place, which this year will be enriched by the participation of the Traveling Science Festival of the 'Beautiful Science' Foundation.
The initiative is a joint effort of the Natural History Museum – Cherni Osam, the 'Central Balkan National Park' Directorate, and the National School for Mountain Guides – Cherni Osam. Over the years, the event has established itself as a key point in the museum's program, attracting nature lovers from across the country who are interested in the activities of nature conservation institutions and the work of rangers.
The 2024 program includes both traditional elements – demonstrations, practical activities, and meetings with specialists – and new interactive components. Thanks to the partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Water (MOEW) and the 'Beautiful Science' Foundation, visitors will have access to scientific workshops, experiments, and presentations led by scientists and science communicators.
The event is aimed at all age groups – from children to adults – offering opportunities for learning through play and practical outdoor experience. Access to the museum halls for presentations and workshops (between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM) is free, though advance reservation is recommended due to limited capacity.
The project is implemented with financial support from the Troya Municipality within the 'Cultural Calendar' program.
