Poland dominates Bulgaria in volleyball: Difficult losses in the Nations League
The Bulgarian men's national volleyball team suffered a heavy 0:3 defeat (19:25, 17:25, 17:25) against Poland during the third week of the Nations League. The match was held in Chicago, USA, where the tournament finalists are being determined.
The Polish team demonstrated higher stability and efficiency in all elements of the game. The most active player for the opponent was opposite Boradz with 13 points, while middle blocker Lemanski scored 11 points, including five aces.
For Bulgaria, the greatest contribution came from Aleksandar Nikolov with 8 points, although he was well below his optimal form with a 37% success rate. Asparuh Asparuhov added another 7 points to the total score.
Following this match, Bulgaria occupies eighth place in the temporary standings with 14 points (5 wins and 4 losses). Since China is hosting the final stage in Ningbo, only the top seven teams from the table will qualify.
After a short rest day, the Bulgarian team will face the hosts, China, on Friday evening (Saturday at midnight).
