A more serious campaign is being prepared in Plovdiv to clear urban spaces of old and abandoned cars. At a recent working meeting, five of the city's six district mayors discussed mechanisms for the forced removal of vehicles occupying parking spaces in residential neighborhoods and on streets.

Currently, procedures for the forced relocation of cars are already underway in the city, following the expiration of the three-month period for voluntary removal. However, the main challenge for the administration remains cases involving cars without license plates or those under special supervision. District leaders emphasize the need to find effective legal solutions that will allow the city to reclaim valuable parking spaces.

The removal procedure is clear:
All forcibly relocated vehicles are transported to the impound lot at 9 Georgi Benev Blvd. Owners have a 14-day period to retrieve their vehicles, provided they pay the corresponding fees.

If the vehicle is still not collected after two weeks, it is handed over for dismantling and scrapping according to established legal procedures. Mayors are calling on citizens to be more proactive and to report abandoned or old cars that obstruct the urban environment.
