The 'K. A. Timiryazev' Vocational High School of Agriculture in Ruse remains a strategic facility for the regional development of the agricultural sector. According to the school's annual report, the institution not only trains specialists but also attempts to meet the real needs of local agriculture and industry.

The school's director, zootechnical engineer Svetlozar Donev, emphasizes that the main task is the preparation of qualified personnel who are competitive both in the labor market and when applying for higher education. Currently, 10th and 11th-grade students are undergoing production practice, which is a critical step for their professional realization.

Challenges Facing Education
Despite the aspiration for modernization, the school faces serious obstacles. One of the main challenges is the administrative limitation of classes for the specialty 'Automotive Technology and Mechatronics.' According to the management, this decision could deepen the demographic crisis in the municipality, as it limits the opportunities for young people to prepare for work in local businesses.

Admissions for the 2025/2026 school year are assessed as relatively good, given the demographic situation. The high school offers specialties with an expected shortage, such as 'Perennial Plantings' and 'Electrical Equipment of Transport Machinery,' while the profession 'Farming' is also appearing in the new classifier.

Base and Modernization
The school possesses a significant base, including a training and experimental farm of nearly 119 hectares. Although the school buildings and dormitories have been renovated, part of the building stock in the farm and the road surface of the training ground require urgent repair. A positive trend is the work on modernization projects, including the newly constructed STEM classroom, funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

Professional Qualifications
The high school is also actively developing its professional centers, providing training for categories 'TVK', 'TVK-Z', and category 'V'. Over the past year, the school has issued numerous certificates of competence, successfully training both students and external trainees, which proves the role of PGS 'Timiryazev' as a regional center for vocational training.
