The head coach of Dunav Ruse, Emanuel Lukanov, shared his impressions after the visit to "Georgi Asparuhov," where the Ruse side lost 1:2 to Levski in the first round of the new season.

Despite the loss, the coach of the "Dragons" found reasons for optimism, emphasizing that the team followed the tactical plan and managed to oppose the strong performance of the Blues. "We had analyzed Levski's style and reacted well. For large periods of the match, the control was in our hands," Lukanov noted.

Lukanov expressed regret that a point was missed in the encounter, but emphasized that the energy and dedication of the players are at a high level. According to him, if Dunav maintains this level of play, the results will inevitably improve. He also stated that he will not resort to a "parking the bus" tactic in front of his own goal, regardless of the opponent's strength, as he believes that attack and balance are necessary for victory.

The coach also revealed the squad difficulties he is facing. Due to unsettled paperwork for several players, he did not have enough rotation, especially on the flanks, which limited the possibilities for refreshing the lineup at critical moments.

Despite the tough schedule at the beginning of the championship, Lukanov is categorical that Dunav's ambitions go beyond just fighting for survival in the elite group. "We do not approach with the mindset that we will only fight to avoid relegation," he concluded.
