Large-scale modernization of schools and kindergartens in Kyustendil: funding secured for new projects

Kyustendil Municipality will undergo a period of large-scale modernization of its educational infrastructure. As announced by the Mayor of the municipality, Ognyan Atanasov, during a meeting of the Municipal Council, projects have been approved for the renovation of a number of schools, kindergartens, and specialized institutions in the region.

The main focus of the new investments is energy efficiency and the implementation of renewable energy sources. Among the facilities that will undergo renovation is the "Vasil Levski" Sports School, where roof repairs, thermal insulation, window replacement, and the construction of its own photovoltaic system are planned. Similar measures are also planned for the "Ivan Vazov" Fourth Primary School, where work will also be done on strengthening the sanitary facilities.

Significant funds will also be directed towards preschool education. The "May", "Edelweiss", "Slaveyche", and "Sluntse" kindergartens will be modernized with a focus on better temperature conditions – heating and cooling systems will be installed. Special attention is being paid to the United Children's Complex, where renovations will cover everything from the facade and roof to electrical installations and fire alarm systems.

The projects also cover more remote settlements. In the village of Radzhavitsa, the building of the "St. Cyril and Methodius" school will be renovated, and in the village of Konyavo, a complete renovation of the kindergarten is planned, including repairs to the yard and sidewalks. The "St. Clement of Ohrid" Professional High School of Agriculture is also on the list.

According to Mayor Atanasov, these activities will provide the children in the municipality with a modern material base and comfortable learning conditions that meet modern requirements.
