Large-scale drug production and distribution in Bolyartsi: Two men charged
The Plovdiv District Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against two men, aged 43 and 20, accused of possession and cultivation of narcotic substances for the purpose of distribution. The incident is the result of a specialized police operation conducted in the village of Bolyartsi, Plovdiv region.
During the searches, Ministry of Interior officers discovered a significant quantity of prohibited substances. A package containing 528 grams of cocaine was found in the trunk of a passenger car. During subsequent searches of residential and utility buildings, an additional 1,617 grams of marijuana, 74 grams of methamphetamine, 9 grams of hashish, and 5 grams of MDMA were seized.
In addition to distribution, the two men are also charged with the illegal cultivation of marijuana. On the ground floor of one of the buildings, a mini-farm was discovered with 186 green cannabis plants, ranging between 70 and 80 centimeters in height. The room was professionally equipped with lighting, irrigation, ventilation, and insulation systems.
An additional blow to the criminal activity was the discovery of 44,900 euros, kept in a chest in one of the rooms on the second floor. The Prosecutor's Office will request the court to impose the preventive measure of 'remand in custody' against the defendants.
