Johnny Depp is back in the spotlight, but this time not because of lawsuits, but through a provocative marketing move at the Comic-Con pop culture festival in San Diego. The actor surprised crowds by appearing on the city streets, transformed into his new character from the film "Ebenezer."

Depp was spotted dressed as the gothic Ebenezer Scrooge – wearing a heavy winter coat and a top hat, emerging from an improvised shop decorated with artificial snow. In character, the actor "argued" with the gathered fans, claiming they seemed to have too much free time. Despite his theatrical behavior, the audience reacted with enthusiasm, greeting him with "Merry Christmas!".

This unconventional approach is part of the promotional campaign for the film "Ebenezer," which is scheduled to premiere on November 13. The project marks a significant event in Depp's career, as it is his first involvement in a major Hollywood studio production in eight years.

Comic-Con, which began more than 50 years ago, expects over 120,000 visitors this year. Despite discussions about moving the event to a larger city like Los Angeles, San Diego authorities confirmed that the festival will remain in the city at least until 2030.
