German Industry Unveils 'Rokar' Amphibian for Extreme Conditions and Rescue Operations

Versatility and Design

The German defense industry has developed the new 'Rokar' 8x8 wheeled amphibious vehicle. The machine is designed to function in extreme conditions, combining modern technology with a robust construction. Thanks to its simplified design, the vehicle's components are easily accessible, allowing for rapid reconfiguration for different tasks.

Technical Specifications and Capabilities

'Rokar' is equipped with powerful hydraulics that allow it to handle uneven terrain, participate in firefighting, and float in water bodies. The vehicle weighs 3.2 tons and has a capacity to transport six people or a payload of 750 kg. Additionally, the machine can tow a trailer weighing up to 3.5 tons.

The dimensions of the amphibian are 3.95 meters in length and 2.3 meters in width. It is powered by a 74 hp diesel engine, and its maximum speed on land is 40 km/h. For additional functionality, a winch for self-evacuation and mounts for several machine guns are provided.

Application and Logistics

The intended application of this universal machine includes support for fire brigades, mountain rescue services, and the coast guard. From a logistics standpoint, 'Rokar' is designed for easy transport – it can be carried by helicopter or dropped from aircraft.
