Free and anonymous HIV and STI testing in Sliven region during August

Free and anonymous testing for HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) will be organized in the Sliven region during August. The activities are part of the fourth stage of the National ANTI-SPIN campaign titled 'Summer Without Risk', the Regional Health Inspection (RHI) – Sliven reported.

Testing Schedule in Sliven and Nova Zagora

Starting August 12, the Virology Laboratory of RHI – Sliven will conduct rapid tests as part of 'Open Door Days'. Testing will be carried out every working day in two time intervals: from 08:30 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 14:00.

On August 17, a mobile clinic will be provided to conduct similar tests in the municipality of Nova Zagora.

Consultations and Prevention

Throughout the entire campaign, citizens can receive expert consultations on issues related to HIV and AIDS. This takes place at the Office for Anonymous and Free Counseling and STI Testing (KABKIS), located in the RHI – Sliven building at 1 Peyo Yavorov St.

In partnership with the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross, condoms and health information materials will be distributed in locations popular among young people in the region. Information support will also be provided through health mediators in the local municipalities.

About the Campaign

The National ANTI-SPIN campaign has been held in Bulgaria annually since 1992. Its main goal is to increase public awareness regarding methods of infection transmission, prevention possibilities, and general knowledge about HIV/AIDS.
