Fatal accident on the Sofia-Varna road: 35-year-old man killed in collision near Targovishte

A serious accident on the main Sofia-Varna road ended with a fatality on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred around 21:45 at the entrance to the town of Targovishte, in the section between the 'Momina cheshma' area and the 'Rompetrol' gas station.

According to initial information from the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior – Targovishte, the collision occurred between two vehicles traveling in the same direction. The victim is a 35-year-old man from the village of Belomortsi, Omurtag municipality.

In addition to the deceased driver, other road users were endangered in the accident. The injured were rushed to the Regional Hospital in Targovishte for medical assistance. The causes of the incident are being established by the competent authorities.

Despite the severity of the event, traffic on the first-class road was not interrupted. Traffic police teams regulated the flow while the crashed vehicles were removed from the roadway to restore normal movement on both lanes.
