Electric Revolution: What New Mercedes Models to Expect by 2030
Mercedes-Benz is accelerating the pace of electrification, preparing its portfolio for massive changes by 2030. While some models are already entering mass production, such as the electric CLA with a range of 800 km, others promise to redefine the concept of luxury and power.
The Electric Predators of AMG
The AMG brand is focusing on extreme parameters. The new AMG CLA 45 will be fully electric, featuring three motors and a total power output of 680 hp. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is just 3 seconds, and the expected price is around 80,000 euros.
For those seeking uncompromising speed, the AMG GT Four Door Coupe is on the horizon. This electric model boasts an incredible 1,169 hp and accelerates to 100 km/h in an impressive 2.4 seconds, placing it on par with high-tech supercars like the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT. The starting price for this luxury model is expected to exceed 138,000 euros.
Luxury and Functionality: VLE and the New G-Class
In the luxury multi-purpose vehicle segment, the Mercedes VLE model is emerging. It will replace the current EQV and offer a range of up to 700 km thanks to a 115 kWh battery. Technological highlights include a cinema screen for rear passengers and augmented reality navigation. Its price is expected to start at around 115,000 euros.
An interesting development is the planned smaller and electric successor to the legendary G-Class. Although it has no official name, the model is expected to be presented by 2027 and feature a battery providing over 640 km of range.
The Future with Conceptual Innovations
In the distant future, Mercedes is also betting on concepts like Vision Iconic. This vehicle is a precursor to the next generation S-Class and demonstrates the use of intelligent solar paint. This technology can provide additional range miles solely through sunlight, which is a major step toward sustainable mobility.
