Edin Džeko facing new challenges at Schalke 04

Edin Džeko is close to renewing his commitment to German Schalke 04. According to information from German media, the 40-year-old striker will sign a new one-year contract with the Gelsenkirchen club, with the main goal being to maintain the team in the Bundesliga.

The Veteran's Contribution

Džeko arrived at the club in January from the Italian Fiorentina. During his stay so far, he contributed to the 'Blues' return to the elite division with six goals scored. Although there is no official confirmation of the new contract yet, Schalke coach Miroslav Mladenović has stated that the team will look for "players with character."
