Dramatic Podium for Nikola Tsolov at Spa in Formula 2
Nikola Tsolov achieved an impressive performance at the Spa track in Belgium, climbing onto the podium in Formula 2. Although he crossed the finish line in fifth position, following the application of sanctions to the leading drivers, the Bulgarian was classified in third place.
The race was filled with dramatic turns and interruptions. After an incident involving Van Hoepen, the track was placed under red flag due to debris, which provided an opportunity for the Campos mechanics to perform emergency repairs on Tsolov's damaged car. These repairs were critical for his survival in the race.
During the race, Tsolov demonstrated an aggressive style, engaging in multiple duels with Intrapuvashak, Camara, and Dunne. Despite losing positions after entering the safety zone, the Bulgarian managed to fight his way back into the competition.
The key moment occurred after the finish, when Alex Dunne and Noel Leon were sanctioned with 5-second penalties each for track limit violations. These penalties allowed the 'Bulgarian Lion' to overtake Dunne by just 0.4 seconds and secure third place in the final classification.
