Dimitrovgrad to Celebrate its 79th Anniversary with a Large-Scale Program: B.T.R. and Toni Dimitrova on Stage

Festive Events and Music Concerts

Dimitrovgrad will mark its 79-year history with a series of events covering music, sports, culture, and art. The festive program, organized by the municipality, will run from August 26 to September 2 at various locations in the city and its surroundings.

A central place in the musical program is held by the concerts at Bulgaria Square, where Deep Zone Project, Nelina, and Toni Dimitrova will perform. The climax of the celebrations will be on September 2 with a grand festive concert by the rock band B.T.R., followed by a pyrotechnic show.

The celebrations will begin on August 26 with the award ceremony for participants in the educational game "Get to Know Dimitrovgrad to Love It 5" and a concert by Vicky Almazidu and Band in Maritsa Park.

Sports and Cultural Highlights

The sports program includes futsal tournaments, streetball, and tennis. A special event is the friendly match between FC "Dimitrovgrad 1947" and FC "Svilengrad," dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the local football team's entry into the "A" Group.

Cultural activities include theater with the mono-performance "The Teacher" by Valentin Tanev at the Sanctuary of the Nymphs and Aphrodite near the village of Kasnakovo, as well as astronomical lectures and projections at the "Giordano Bruno" Observatory. At the "Penyo Penev" City Library, a documentary exhibition on the 80-year history of the brigade movement will be opened.

Commercial and Official Events

From August 30 to September 2, the Crafts Alley and the Farmers' Market will be operating, offering products from local producers. The official celebrations will conclude with a solemn session of the Municipal Council and the presentation of the Dimitrovgrad Municipality calendar for the 2026/2027 period.
