Burgas to host the international film festival "WHO CREATES?", focusing on AI and youth cinema

Burgas is preparing to host the first edition of the International Research Film Festival for Children and Youth "WHO CREATES? – Youth Film Festival". The event will be held between August 25 and 27 at the Sea Casino Cultural Center and the International Congress Center in the city.

The organizer of the initiative is the YOUNIVERSE Foundation in partnership with the "FAR-1946" community center and with the support of the Burgas Municipality. The festival is aimed at young authors aged between 10 and 25, with its main goal being to explore how new technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) influence the creative thinking of the new generation.

The scale of the forum is impressive even from its first edition. 189 films created by 150 participants representing 42 countries have been submitted to the competition program, including the USA, Japan, China, Australia, Mexico, and many European countries. The winners will be determined by an international jury with representatives from the USA, Germany, Georgia, Belarus, and Russia.

One of the key parts of the program will be the "Featured AI Cinema Showcase" section, which will present works and video messages from leading global leaders in the field of AI cinema. According to Natalie Wong, founder of the YOUNIVERSE Foundation, the festival also has a scientific research mission – to understand how coexistence with algorithms changes the concept of authorship and the creative process itself.

As a final product of the forum, the organizers will prepare the global "YOUNIVERSE Research Report". It will compile analyses from discussions and surveys to provide a detailed look at the visual thinking of contemporary youth in the era of artificial intelligence.
