Bulgarian Tennis Players in the Spotlight: Full Weekly Overview (July 20-26)
One of the busiest weeks is ahead for Bulgarian tennis players, whose performances we will be following on several different levels – from WTA and ATP Challenger tournaments to the smaller M15 and W50 series.
Women's Tennis: Yaneva in Palermo and participation in Horb
The main focus in women's tennis is on Elizara Yaneva, who is participating in the WTA 125 series tournament in Palermo. She is seeded number 8 in the draw and will face local representative Federica Urgesi.
In the W50 series tournament in Horb, Denislava Glushkova has already secured a place in the main draw, while Beatrix Spasova and Dariya Velikova will have to go through the qualifications to advance further.
Men's Tennis: Battle for spots in the Challenger tournament main draws
In the men's category, attention is focused on the ATP Challenger series. In Zug, Alexander Donski and Petar Nesterov have achieved success in the qualifications and are on the threshold of the main draw. In Segovia, Alexander Vasilev will face Digvijay Singh in a decisive qualifying match, and in Tampere, Dimitar Kuzmanov will play against Maxime Janvier.
Smaller series and regional tournaments
At the M25 level in Denia, Anas Mazdrashki is in the main draw, while in Segrate, Adrian Andreev will fight for a spot in the M15 tournament main draw against Damien Claire.
Interestingly, in Bulgaria, in Kurshumliyska Banya, an M15 series tournament is being held, in which three of our players will participate: Yanaki Milev, Dinko Dinev, and Viktor Markov. They are already in the main draw of the competition.
