Bulgaria with three individuals and an ensemble at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Frankfurt
Bulgaria will be strongly represented at the upcoming 42nd Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships, which will be held in Frankfurt, Germany, between August 12 and 16. The national gymnasts are expected to be among the favorites for honors in the discipline.
In the individual competition, Bulgaria will be represented by three gymnasts: European vice-champion Stiliyana Nikolova, who will compete on all four apparatus; Eva Brezalieva, who will demonstrate compositions with hoop, ball, and clubs; as well as Yanitsa Dineva, who will make her World Championship debut with a ribbon routine.
The Bulgarian ensemble will also enter the fight for titles with a team consisting of Rachel Stoyanov, Margarita Vasileva, Magdalena Minevska, Magdalena Valkova, Raya Bozhilova, and Emilia Obretenova.
The championship will be extremely intense, with a total of nine world titles to be awarded across various categories – from team competitions to individual apparatus finals. In addition to the prestigious medals, the championship holds strategic importance, as it will serve as the first Olympic qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Games. Olympic quotas will be distributed based on the performance of the top three individuals and the top three ensembles in the all-around competition.
