Bulgaria is a mystical point on Earth: Hirofumi Ajichi reveals why Japan would fall in love with our country

Bulgaria is a place with a special energy that attracts with its spirituality and mysticism. This is how our guest Hirofumi Ajichi describes the country – a Japanese entrepreneur and public figure who has been part of Bulgarian public life for four decades.

In a conversation with Darik Radio, Ajichi, who was the director of Mitsubishi Corporation in Sofia and chairman of the Japan Club, presented a perspective on Bulgaria that goes beyond standard clichés. For him, the country is not just a geographical point, but a "mystical and divine connection to health." According to him, it is precisely nature, the climate, and the healthy lifestyle that are the strongest cards Bulgaria can play to present itself to the world.

"I am constantly rediscovering a new Bulgaria. An unknown Bulgaria," he shares, emphasizing that even after such a long period here, he still sees new layers in its development. He expresses a special attachment to the village of Vrabevo in the Troyan region, where he finds what he calls "missing humanism" – the closeness between people and neighborly support, which has faded in large metropolises and in Japan itself.

In addition to cultural and spiritual value, Ajichi also emphasizes the country's intellectual resource. He highlights that Bulgaria possesses "unique brains" that are recognized on a global scale, but adds that to fully realize this potential, stronger unity is needed between the state, local government, and the private sector.

For a man who has spent two-thirds of his life here, Bulgaria is no longer just a place to reside, but a home. "My blood is Bulgarian," he says, demonstrating the deep emotional and cultural connection he has built with this land.
