Budget, Healthcare, and Municipal Property: Themes of the Upcoming Committee Meetings in Lovech

Large-scale meetings of the six standing committees of the Lovech Municipal Council are approaching, which will discuss a wide range of socially significant issues – from healthcare and education to the management of municipal property.

One of the most serious items on the agenda is the state of the Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment. A proposal has been made to send an official signal to the Minister of Health regarding the situation in the hospital. The topic will be reviewed by the Committee on Social Activities and again by the Committee on Legal and Regulatory Affairs.

In the field of education and sports, a proposal is being discussed to ensure free access to the sports grounds of schools within the municipality. Additionally, the municipality will consider applications under the 'Education' Program 2021–2027 for projects aimed at school desegregation and the development of the dual education system.

The financial block includes a report on the execution of the 2025 municipal budget and the financial status of commercial companies in which the municipality holds a minority stake. In view of the changes related to the adoption of the Euro, a change to the Articles of Association of 'EKO' EAD will also be discussed.

There will also be important decisions regarding municipal property. The following are included on the agenda:

• Sale of undeveloped land in Lovech and property in the 'Sinan Tepe' area through a public auction;
• Sale of a municipal 'GAZ 66' cargo truck;
• Provision of 36,000 sq. m of land in the village of Lisets for the needs of a permanent apiary.

In addition to administrative and economic topics, a proposal to honor journalist and public figure Milko Nedyalkov with the title 'Merited Citizen of Lovech' will be discussed. All meetings will be held in the assembly hall of the Lovech Municipality.
