Attention in the Mountains: Low Temperatures and Expected Precipitation, Mountain Rescue Service Calls for Good Preparation
Conditions for hiking in the mountains are relatively good, but meteorological conditions require increased attention from tourists. In some places, temperatures in the higher parts still drop to around 3 degrees, which necessitates prepared equipment and appropriate clothing.
The Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) has issued a call to mountain visitors not to underestimate the cold. In the last 24 hours, there have been no reports of people in distress or incidents related to meteorological conditions.
According to the forecasts of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH), cloudiness in the mountains will remain significant. During the afternoon hours, the development of cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds is expected, with short-term precipitation possible in some places, and thunderstorms in some areas. The wind will be moderate, primarily from the north.
Maximum temperatures will vary depending on altitude: around 16 degrees at 1200 meters and around 9 degrees at 2000 meters above sea level.
