AI Spending Boom: Forecast of $64 Billion by 2026

The artificial intelligence (AI) technology market is entering a period of massive expansion. According to the latest forecasts from the leading research firm Gartner, global end-user spending on AI models and platforms will reach $64.25 billion by 2026.

This represents an impressive jump of over 63% compared to previous year levels. Analyses show that the largest growth is expected in the generative models segment, where spending is projected to increase by 117%, while spending on AI platforms will grow by nearly 37%.

Focus on Efficiency and Control

The shift in market dynamics is not accidental. According to Gartner chief analyst Arunasri Cheparty, the corporate sector no longer views AI solely as an innovation, but as a tool that requires precise budgetary control. Companies are beginning to look not just for new technologies, but for solutions that deliver measurable results and have transparent pricing.

“Spending is shifting toward providers who can demonstrate the real value of their solutions through price, performance, and reliability,” Cheparty notes. She adds that in the long term, market leaders will be those who provide tools for monitoring, performance assessment, and cost management throughout the entire business process.

With the increasing number of available models and the growing complexity of payment models (consumption-based), buyers will gravitate toward platforms that offer greater predictability and easy integration into existing workflows.
