Toyota Dominates in Japan: Most Valuable Brand for 11th Consecutive Year
Toyota maintains its status as the most valuable brand in Japan for the 11th consecutive year, according to the latest "Japan 300 2026" report by the consulting firm Brand Finance. The brand's value has increased by 3%, reaching 9.6 trillion Japanese yen.
Toyota's success is due to the company's stable foundations – scale, reliability, and innovation. A key factor in its leadership is its multi-faceted electrification strategy, with the hybrid vehicle segment performing particularly strongly, already accounting for 42% of the brand's global sales.
The automotive industry continues to be the backbone of the Japanese economy. It represents 17% of the total value of the country's leading brands. Globally, the Japanese automotive sector ranks second in contribution to the total value of automotive brands, representing 23% of the global market.
Other significant movements are also noted in the rankings. While Toyota leads, Mitsubishi Group falls one spot to third place due to higher operating costs. On the other hand, telecommunications giant NTT Group climbs to second position, supported by its investments in artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure.
According to the analysis, the Japanese business landscape demonstrates both resilience and adaptability. Toyota not only dominates financially but also establishes itself as a leader in terms of sustainability perception in the environmental sector, thanks to its long-term greenhouse gas emission reduction goals.
