Through the Lens of History: Pleven Library Launches Photo Contest for 1345 Years of Bulgaria
Every photograph is a moment that turns into memory. With this motto, the "Hristo Smirnenski" Regional Library in Pleven announced the start of its annual photo contest, which this time carries deep symbolic meaning: "Traces of Time – 1345 Years of Bulgaria".
The initiative, organized by the "Art" department, is dedicated to the remarkable jubilee of Bulgarian statehood. The goal is not just to capture beautiful landscapes, but to discover the visual language of our past, present, and future – through traditions, history, and the unique spirit of the country.
The contest is open to everyone who believes in the power of the image. There are no age restrictions, making the competition a true meeting of generations – from novice enthusiasts to experienced photography lovers. Each participant can submit up to two original shots in JPG/JPEG format.
How to participate?
Works must be sent via email to: [email protected]. Each photo must be accompanied by a title, the author's name, and a contact phone number. By submitting the materials, participants consent to their use by the organizers for the purposes of promoting the contest.
The deadline for participation is long – participants have until September 22, 2026. The winners will be announced on September 25, and the best shots will find a home in a virtual photo exhibition, allowing the public to touch the "traces of time" through the eyes of Bulgarian photographers.
