The Bulgarian cultural community is in mourning. The Union of Artists in Bulgaria has confirmed the news of the passing of actress Maya Dragomanska, who passed away at the age of 78.

Maya Dragomanska was an actress with a presence that was hard to forget. Educated in the class of Prof. Lyubomir Kabakchiev at NATFIZ "Krysto Sarafov," she turned the stages of the Drama Theatre - Plovdiv, Sofia Theatre, and the Small City Theatre "Zad Kanala" into her creative homes. Over the years, she reimagined characters from classical and contemporary drama, working with the greatest names in Bulgarian directing – from Vili Tsankov and Leon Daniel to Stoyan Kambarev and Marius Kurkinski.

Her presence was not limited to the theatrical stage; her talent also found expression in front of the camera, leaving a mark on Bulgarian cinema and television. She was an actress who combined deep artistic culture with a unique stage presence.

"Today, the Bulgarian stage has lost another talented actress who will forever remain in the memory of generations of viewers and colleagues," the Union of Artists shared in an official statement. With condolences to the family and loved ones, the community pays tribute to a living legend whose creative path will continue to live on through her roles.
