The budget should stimulate growth, not consumption – entrepreneurs urge

According to Alexander Nutsov, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Entrepreneurship Association, the current budgetary model focuses too much on consumption instead of stimulating economic growth. Entrepreneurs are calling for a new approach where every expenditure of public resources is transparent and supported by clear analyses of its return on investment.

One of the main proposals is the creation of a "unified digital budget." This initiative, supported by the Institute for Market Economy and "Active Policies," would allow citizens to see a "line-by-line" breakdown for every expense. The goal is to make it clear which specific projects the money is going to and what added value they bring to the national economy.

In addition to financial transparency, Nutsov emphasizes the need for administrative optimization by eliminating duplicating agencies and services. In the field of education, which is key to preparing personnel for the modern world, emphasis is placed on the need to prioritize skills and better language support for children.
