The Serbian specialty coffee chain Kafeterija is officially entering the Bulgarian market through the acquisition of the local brand Eddy's. The deal is backed by the investment fund BlackPeak Capital, which is a major shareholder in Kafeterija.

The financial details of the transaction have not been publicly disclosed, but the strategic goal is clear: regional expansion and consolidation of the specialty coffee market in Southeast Europe. Kafeterija, which already operates over 60 locations in Serbia and Montenegro, plans to integrate its operational standards and product range into Eddy's existing network.

Currently, Eddy's has 13 locations in Bulgaria, primarily in Sofia. Following the acquisition, the brand's reach is expected to expand both in the capital and in other major Bulgarian cities. The new locations will offer an expanded assortment, including the Serbian chain's signature products.

According to Kafeterija's management, Bulgaria is a natural next market due to Eddy's strong position and loyal customer base. BlackPeak Capital emphasizes that this move is part of the company's aggressive growth strategy, which began following the fund's investment in 2025.
