Price Absurdity in Plovdiv: A Kilogram of Calamari in a Fast Food Shop Costs Almost 80 Lev

While public attention is focused on high prices on the Black Sea coast and in neighboring Greece and Turkey, a new example of a price anomaly has appeared in Plovdiv. A resident of the city shared a shocking experience from one of the popular fast food establishments on the main street, where prices seem completely detached from market reality.

According to information provided by the user, the price for a kilogram of breaded calamari at the establishment reaches 40.50 euros, which is approximately 79.21 BGN. Although merchants justify the high price by stating that the product is "their own production," consumers are expressing skepticism.

A comparative market analysis shows that the amount is illogical. For comparison:

• Catering services: Offer a similar product at around 40.68 BGN per kilogram.
• Deliveries: Prices vary between 29 and 57 BGN.
• Raw product: Frozen calamari in stores costs between 7 and 11 euros (about 14-21 BGN) per kilogram.

The case has triggered a wave of dissatisfaction, with calls for institutions to investigate trading practices in the city, as the difference between the price of the finished product and the raw material is unjustifiably high for a fast food type establishment.
