New equipment for the fire department: 29 drones and equipment worth 7 million euros
Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev announced the acquisition of 29 new drones, which will be used for faster and more efficient firefighting. The equipment is part of a joint project between the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy.
The total value of the new resources amounts to 7 million euros. In addition to the unmanned aerial vehicles, the investment includes saws, protective gear, and other specialized equipment. The funds were secured through the "Human Resources Development" program, which covers a total of 28 projects.
An important aspect of the new investment is the focus on personnel training. Part of the budget is allocated for the training of professional firefighters, as well as volunteer formations, which is key to increasing operational readiness during disasters.
What does this mean for citizens?
The presence of drones allows for earlier detection of outbreaks and more precise monitoring of fire development, which is critical for preventing large-scale disasters. Faster response times and better equipment for firefighters and volunteers directly impact the safety of residential areas and the protection of the country's forests.
