Naval Wind Band Organizes Free Outdoor Concerts in Varna

Summer Tour of Military Musicians

The Representative Wind Band of the Naval Forces will hold a series of free outdoor concerts in Varna. The events will take place in front of the entrance to the Sea Garden and aim to present a more diverse side of military music outside the framework of official protocol.

The orchestra, which has been part of state and military rituals for over 140 years, is planning two upcoming performances in August. The first concert is scheduled for August 7 as part of the Naval Forces Day program, and the last of the summer tour will be on August 13.

Tradition and Professionalism

The orchestra's conductor, Captain III Rank Georgi Zayranov, emphasizes the role of music in important historical events, whether they are solemn or tragic. According to him, expectations for the ensemble are high, as the orchestra is part of a long tradition in the country.

Assistant conductor Senior Lieutenant Daniel Lazarov describes the musicians' work as a calling that combines patriotism with a sense of duty. He added that the outdoor concerts allow the audience to see a completely different side of military music, and meeting people brings additional motivation to the performers.

The musicians' daily routine includes intensive rehearsals and instrument maintenance to maintain a high professional level. Conductor Captain III Rank Georgi Zayranov characterizes the ensemble as unique to Bulgaria, noting the lack of a similar naval orchestra in the country.
